Thrive is passionate about the maintenance of health and wellbeing with age. Thrive works to provide older adults with the tools and education for developing and sustaining regular exercise habits that are suited each individual’s lifestyle. Benefits for older adults participating in Thrive’s exercise services include:
Improving & maintaining one’s functional capacity for everyday activities and hobbies
Maintaining the ability to gett on/off floor
Prevention of falls
Prevention of injuries & joint pain
Reducing the risk of age-related health conditions linked to sedentary behaviour (i.e. heart disease, diabetes, obesity)
In conjunction to individual services, Thrive runs small group classes for older adults. Classes are focused on building strength, fitness, balance and the maintenance of bone density. Co-ordination and cognitive tasks are also incorporated to help with preventing cognitive decline.
